Tecnologie FRB was founded in the early ’60’s by Romano Franceschelli who, first as a turner, then as a mechanical designer and finally as an engineer, manufactured spare parts on behalf of third parties.The problems he faced when turning shafts of different dimensions and type, led him to research and develop new machine tools, such as the live center with axial load distribution and later on, the face driver with a mechanical self- compensating system of the driving pins.

Inventing new tools : the patents

These new, innovative products were so successful, both on an economic and operative level, that they were patented, manufactured and marketed by Tecnologie FRB. The following years were dedicated to hard work and the expansion of the company, committed to widening the range of new products through the introduction of face drivers and live centers for gear cutting and grinding. Subsequently, live centres for pipe grinding and dead centres in hard metal were also introduced, existing products were technologically upgraded, and we worked to attain the highest possible quality in our tools.

Great achievements

The results of our hard work were quick to follow, and in the early eighties Tecnologie FRB was recognised as market leader in its sector. Today, in our plant in Sasso Marconi (BO), a skilled team of highly qualified staff work to guarantee the optimum quality of the tools manufactured, combining their expertise with modern, technologically advanced, state of the art machinery.

Tecnologie FRB works closely alongside the engineering departments of the foremost manufacturers of machine tools in Italy and abroad and has won the trust of leading companies to whom it offers not only its equipment but also technical advice, in order to optimise turning and grinding cycles. Continuing investment has always been of prime importance to Tecnologie FRB, to ensure the growth and expansion of the company both at home and abroad. We have invested in research, in staff training and in development in order to identify and employ those innovative technologies which have made us an influential and ground-breaking force with regards live centers and spare parts manufacturing in general.
